Hallie Mae King

LEICESTER - Hallie Mae Owens King, 77, died Friday April 22, 2011. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a longtime member of Georgetown Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Simeon McKinley and Lucy Mae Hollifield Owens and the wife of the late Herman H. King. She was also preceded in death by a grandson. Surviving are her daughters, Peggy Lackey and husband Terry of Leicester and Angelia Casey of Asheville; sons, David R. King and Danny King and wife Mary all of Leicester; sister, Ann Harris of Fairview; brother, Jerry Glenn Owens, Sr. of Leicester; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Georgetown Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Davis, Thomas Freeman and Chris Owens officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
