Harold "Buster" Masters, was born on November 14, 1937, in Buncombe County. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Swannanoa, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and resilience.

Buster was known for his zest for life, particularly enjoying traveling and camping, which allowed him to explore the beauty of nature. He was also an avid fan of dirt track racing, a passion that connected him with fellow enthusiasts and created lasting memories. His vibrant personality and enduring spirit will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He was a devoted family man, survived by his children: Bruce Masters and his wife Patricia, JoAnn Rice and her husband Bobby, and Cynthia Holcomb. Buster shared a close bond with his siblings, including his sister, Susie Thone-Suwann and her husband Pat, as well as his brothers, Charles Masters and his wife Jean, and Bob Masters; thirteen grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Buster was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty years, Annie Mae Masters, who departed this life on August 16, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Kate Lindsey Masters, along with his grandson, Michael Masters, and a great-granddaughter.

A service to celebrate Buster's life will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at New Hope Community Church of Asheville, 10 Herron Street, Black Mountain, NC 28711.

As we remember Harold "Buster" Masters, we celebrate his life's journey—a journey filled with love for his family, a passion for adventure, and an appreciation for the simple joys that life offered. His memory will continue to thrive in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
