Hazel Kathryn Smith

Asheville - Hazel Kathryn Ramsey Smith, 90, of 5 Impala Trail, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the John F. Keever Solace Center after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Albert and Betty Ramsey. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, John Homer Smith of the home; daughter, Rita Gaye Teems of Marble; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Chester Owenby officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Revs. Jerry Young and Allen Rash officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 till 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
