Hazel P. Scruggs

Asheville - Mary Hazel Barclay Parham Scruggs, 89, died Tuesday December 12, 2006. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 70 years. She was the wife of the late Gay Edward Parham and Rev. Gordon Scruggs. Surviving are her sister, Greta McCurry Richards and husband Daniel of Morehead City and brother, Carroll R. McCurry of Valley, NE. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church with Revs. Mark Lewis and Harold Savell officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
