Howard Roberts

Howard Roberts, 72, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center. A native of Madison County, Howard resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a son of the late Johnny and Susie Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lee; brothers: Lloyd, Coy, Branson, Ray, and James. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Rita Roberts; sons: Tim Roberts and wife Heather of Leicester, Bobby Roberts and wife Tara of Alexander, and Billy Roberts and wife Tabitha of Alexander; sisters: Opal Rice, Margaret Riddle, and Ellen Roberts; brothers: Leonard Roberts, and Richard Roberts; grandchildren: Morgan, Noah, Brian, Jonah, Braydan, and Jo; and by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Alexander, of which he was a member, with Rev. Roy McPeters officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 PM Saturday at the church. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Roberts family.
