Jack "Mickey" Deaver

Asheville – Jack “Mickey” Garland Deaver, 90, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Oscar Washington Deaver and Pearl Baldwin Deaver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Willa Edna Rawls Deaver who passed away on October 6, 2017; sisters: Martha Lee Thompson, Frip Deaver West, and Tommie King; and brothers: Harry VanBurton Deaver, and William “Bill” Deaver. Mickey was a US Air Force Veteran and worked in Buncombe County as a Painting Contractor. Surviving are his best friend, Ralph and wife Peggy Yoder of Black Mountain, and several nieces and nephews. A private burial was held at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery.
