Jack Walden

Asheville – Jack Eugene Walden, 93, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Walden had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He retired from the Hicks Corporation as a machinist and was a devoted NASCAR fan. Mr. Walden was the son of the late Fonzo “F.F” Walden and Stella Southerland Walden. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Eldridge Sue Walden; his stepmother, Dorothy Gentry Walden; sister, Betty Lee; and brothers: Walter “Pete” Walden and Earl Walden. Surviving are his son, Dan Walden, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of Emerald Ridge for the love and care Mr. Walden received during his stay.
