James Arthur Henderson

James Arthur Henderson, 87, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County for the past 62 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in WWII. Mr. Henderson was a son of the late Columbus and Nora Rocket Henderson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Thomas Henderson who passed away September 24, 2009; and brothers: Robert, Ralph, Everett, and James Henderson. Surviving are his daughter, Mary Lewis and husband Bob of Edward, NC; grandchildren: Scott Lewis, Heather Cain and husband Billy and Brittany Murray and husband Bryn; great granddaughters: Avery Cain and Ally Cain; brother, Fred Henderson of Weaverville; and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
