James Dale Lowe

Asheville - James Dale Lowe, 71, of 81 Indiana Ave. died Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A life long resident of Buncombe County, he was retired from Fishburne International and was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church. He was a song writer and a very talented artist and musician. Mr. Lowe was the son of the late Henry J. Red and Effie McElrath Lowe and was the husband of the late Donie Marie Ellison Lowe. Surviving are his sisters, Thelma Suggs and husband Wilbert, Marjorie Smith and Husband James, and Mary Penland and husband Mack E. all of Asheville, and Edna Tipton and husband George E. of Arden; brother, Paul A Lowe and wife Marie of Asheville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leonard Cutshaw and Bobby Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
