James Emory Gasperson

James Emory Gasperson, affectionately known to many as Jimmy, was born on May 23, 1944, in Asheville, North Carolina. He lived a full life, dedicated to his faith and the love of his family, until his passing on December 8, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bertha Helen Gasperson Owenby and his grandfather Francis Emery Gasperson. Both were very important in his life.

Jimmy is survived by his siblings: Michael Owenby, Brenda Owenby and her husband Paul Grandy, Mary Knowles, and Patrick Owenby. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will carry his memory with great fondness. Each shared moment with Jimmy will be treasured, reflecting the warmth and love he brought into their lives.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
