James William Bailey Jr.

James William Bailey, Jr., 71, went to be with his Lord Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. Mr. Bailey was a native of Spartanburg, SC and had resided in Buncombe County for the past 54 years. He attended and played the piano at many area churches, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a son of the late James William Bailey, Sr. and Erma Josephine Wilson Bailey. Surviving are his siblings: Myrtle Jo Freeman and husband Ronald of Austin, TX, Ernest Frazier Bailey and wife Janice of Six Mile, SC, and Mary Lindsey and husband Bill of Spartanburg, SC; nieces and nephews: Ronald Scott Freeman, Suzianne Marie McGolrick, Michelle Ann Black, Amanda Raines, Betty Jo Conard, Brian Keith Lindsey, and Sean Patrick Lindsey; and great nieces and nephews: Barrett Lindsey, Laurel Lindsey, Peyton Lindsey, Dalton Conard, Scarlet Conard, Richard Conard, Olivia Sarah McGolrick, Crystal Marie Hollingsworth, Kerry Wayne Ames and Tyler Wayne Ray Freeman;and great-great nieces and nephews; Shelbie Nicole Leffler, and Harley Gene Hollingsworth. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
