Janet Bowman Cartwright

Janet Bowman Cartwright, 84, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence. A native of Alexander County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was a longtime active member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Ransom and Retha Simmons Bowman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Allan Cartwright; son, David Allen Cartwright; a great grandchild; and brothers: Bill Bowman, and Harold Bowman. Surviving are her children: Fonda Cassada and husband David, Sharolyn Curenton, and Eric Cartwright all of Leicester; grandchildren: Lora Mull, Tonya Williams, Brian Cassada, Joseph Cartwright, and Kelsi Cartwright; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Randall of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 till 8 PM. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Loretta Rice, Deborah Cartwright, and Lora Lynn Mull for their loving support and care for Mrs. Cartwright.
