Janie Carson Broderick

Asheville - Janie Kate Carson Broderick, 96, formerly of The Summit, 100 Riceville Road, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007. A native of Buncombe County. She retired in 1967 from Southern Bell Telephone Company as an Operator and was a member of First Baptist Church of Asheville. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Prince Carson and Della Buckner Carson and wife of Howard A. Broderick who died February 25, 1994. Surviving are her God-daughter, Gwen Hall and husband, Quin of Belmont; and other survivors including niece, Gloria Creasman of Asheville and great niece, Jannie Rollinson of Waxhaw. Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Sunday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
