Janie Smith

Asheville - Janie Mae Vaughn Smith, 62, of 11 Lancelot Lane, died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Buncombe County, she had lived in Tennessee for 10 years and Florida for several years before moving back to Buncombe County in 1977. She was a member of the BPO Does of Asheville. She was a daughter of the late Bud Vaughn and Irene Massey Vaughn Kersey. Surviving are her husband, George Smith of the home; daughters, Kelly Lane Smith and Lisa Shannon Smith both of Asheville; son, Anthony Vaughn; grandchildren, Savannah Mack and Beverly Nicole Smith; sister, Marsha Ledford of Asheville and 4 other sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
