Jean Haynes Grooms

Leicester Jean Haynes Grooms, 76, of Leicester passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. She passed peacefully into her heavenly home surrounded by family. She was a life time native of Buncombe County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Glenda Nowell. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Doyle Grooms of the home, and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jean retired in 2010 from J Crew following 17 years of service. Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Community Chapel Baptist Church of which she was a member. Rev. Dean Rice and Rev. David Scruggs will officiate with burial to follow at Little Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the church. The Grooms family gives a very special thanks to the loving and caring staff of John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
