Jeff Shook

Asheville – Jeffery Lynn Shook, affectionately known as “Smurf”, 58, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Mack Shook and Cornelia Hazel Haney Shook. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cornelia Maxine Shook Cason, and niece, Tracy Davis. Jeff was a former auto mechanic having served many years with Rogers Auto Service. He is survived by his sisters: Jo Ann Shook (Rick), and Melissa Shook Ellege all of Candler; brothers: Calvin Michael Shook (Patty) of Leicester, and Marty Lamar Shook (Karen) of Enka; numerous nieces and nephews including: Douglas, Stephanie, Tiffany, Drew, Ryan, and Summer. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
