Jerry Walter Rogers, 82, went home to be with The Lord on Friday, September 11, 2026, at his home in Fairview. He was born on August 27, 1944, in Asheville.
Mr. Rogers served honorably in the United States Army. He went on to build a long and steady career with Eaton, Cutler-Hammer, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring as an Injection Molding Supervisor. Jerry also volunteered countless hours over the course of more than 30 years as a member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, having received his 30 year service award in 1994. Dedication to hard work was also reflected in his life beyond his career, as he was a lifelong farmer.
Jerry found joy in simple pleasures and lasting pursuits. He enjoyed visiting flea markets in search of treasures, especially antique milk bottles, which he collected with enthusiasm. He was also an avid hunter. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Charles Rogers and wife Pat; brother-in-law, Roy Lynch and wife Kay; nephews: Michael Rogers, Shane Rogers, Chris Lynch, and Steve Lynch; and niece, Debbie Rogers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Walter Ledbetter Rogers and Edna Tweed Rogers; brother, William “Burnice” Rogers; and sister, Aileen Rogers Lynch.
