Joan Hawkins

Alexander - Laura Joan Sprinkle Hawkins, 67, of 75 Old Macedonia Road died Saturday, December 29, 2001 following a short illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was co-owner of Hawkins T.V. and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Riley Sprinkle and Pearl Stines Sprinkle. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Hawkins, Sr. of the home; sons, Thomas R. Hawkins, Jr. and wife, Gail Satterwhite of Atlanta, Georgia, Chris Hawkins of the home; daughters, Sandra Gail Thompson and husband, Jeff and Kimberly Lynn Swain and fiance Perry Clement all of Candler; sister, Virginia Greene of Asheville; 4 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Monday at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Crayton officiating.
