John Joseph Williams

Fairview - John Joseph Williams, 85, of 8 Robert Williams Road died Thursday May 8, 2003 at the Asheville V.A. Medical Center after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Robert and Minnie Sawyer Williams. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. and the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his Son, Dale Williams of the home; Adopted Son, Derrick R. Durden of Fairview and Nephew, Kenneth Williams of Fairview. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
