Johnnie Garland Mchone

Johnnie Garland McHone, 68, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Elizabeth House. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County he was a son of the late George and Clara Hawkins McHone. He was also preceded in death his sisters: Shirley Cathey, and Pat OKelly; brothers: Clarence Cathey, and Bruce McHone. Johnnie was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam. He was also a Park Ranger at Lake Julian, and loved the outdoors. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Livengood McHone; sons: Ben McHone and his wife Courtney Frisbee McHone of Leicester, and Steven McHone of Asheville; grandchildren: Ryleigh McHone, and Kinsleigh McHone; and brother, Jewell Cathey.
