Jonathan Allen Ray

Jonathan Allen Ray, 46, of Candler, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at his home.

A native of Asheville, Jonathan was the son of Viola Ray and the late Harold Ray. He was a member of Snow Hill Church in Candler and worked as a wine picker for Skyland Distributors. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Scott Ray.

Jonathan is survived by his wife, Carol Fowler Ray; his mother, Viola Ray; his children, Brian Keith Ray and Haley Ray; his siblings: Michelle Fox and husband Roger, Amanda Luther, David Jones, and Ozzie Luther; and his nieces and nephews: Whitney, Daniel, Brittany, Marissa, Axel, and Nevaeh Luther.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held by his family at 11 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Snow Hill United Methodist Church in Candler. Flowers and gifts will be accepted at the church on Saturday.

Jonathan will be remembered by his family and friends, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
