Jonathon Barber

Asheville Jonathon Talan Barber, 29, of Asheville, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home following an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Jonathon was a 2005 graduate of Hendersonville Christian School and was currently employed with WNC Tile. He was an avid gamer, a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a keen poker player, and a kind, loving, gentle spirit. Jonathon was the son of Johnny Lee Barber and wife Karen, and Karren Teague Barber. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Opal Lee Ayers, and maternal grandfather, Cecil Elmer Teague. In addition to his parents, surviving are his brother, Jared Barber; nephew, Jackson Barber; step-sisters: Brittany and Brandy Helton; paternal grandparents: J.T. and Gloria Ayers Barber; maternal grandmother, Bromia Baily Teague; aunt, Marilyn Ball and husband, Billy; and cousin, Monica Ball. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6:00 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
