Joyce Hyatt Smith

Joyce Denise Hyatt Smith, 70, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, she retired from the Cafeteria at Sand Hill Venable School after nearly 30 years of service. She was a member of Maple Ridge Baptist Church in Candler.

Joyce was a daughter of the late Raymond Eugene Hyatt and Dorothy Mae Crowder Hyatt.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Michael Smith; children: Kristen Smith Barton and husband Wesley, and Tyler Smith; sisters: Brenda Hyatt, and Angie Hyatt Smith and husband Patrick; niece, Stacie Edwards and husband Austin; and great niece and nephew: Emma Edwards, and Walker Edwards.

A time of gathering will be held from 2 PM till 4 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
