Julia Bailey Blanton

Julia Bailey Blanton, 93, of Candler, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Dire and Lydia Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Blanton, who died in 1961; a son, Guy Leroy Blanton; a grandson, Roy Searcy; sister, Pauline Best; and brothers: Guy and Bud Bailey. Mrs. Blanton was survived by her children: Larry P. Blanton of Candler, Retha White of Oteen, Joyce Smith of TN, Janice Roberts of Asheville, Regina Babar of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Matthew and Cordale Henson of FL; and five nephews. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
