Karen Hyatt

YORK, SC - Karen Taft Hyatt, 54, of York, S.C., formerly of Mars Hill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, after a long battle with breast cancer. Born July 13, 1955 in Fairfax, VA, Karen graduated from Enka High School in 1973 and attended AB-Tech. She spent most of her life in Asheville and had a passion for horses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Clarence and Alma Lee Taft. Karen is survived by her daughter Kellie Marie Hyatt; son, Corey Michael Hyatt and wife Wendy; grandson Colbey Michael Hyatt; sister Donnella T. Boyd and husband Stan; brother Michael G. Taft with wife Donna; nieces, Casey Taft, Cameron Hyatt and Shelby Hyatt; and special friends: Mike and Peggy Hyatt. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation to the Karen Hyatt Memorial Fund at any Wachovia Bank.
