Karen J. Brown

Weaverville Karen Elizabeth Jackson Brown, 58, of 76 Plum Road passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Washington, DC, she had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Huey and Jessie Belle Driver Jackson. Surviving are her husband, Lewis Michael Brown of Asheville; son, Kevin M. Brown and wife Jennifer of Weaverville; daughter, Jessica H. Dodd and husband Brandon of Candler; grandchildren, Katriona, Hunter, Phoenix and Jackson and best friend who she considered as her sister, Judy Deitz. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 2, 2013 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.
