Katherine Towe

Candler - Katherine Burr Hill Towe, 94, passed away Friday March 20, 2009 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Clyde, she had moved to Buncombe County in 1952. She was a member of Candler Church of God and had retired from Belks after 19 years of service. She was a daughter of the late Ben and Daisy Leatherwood Hill. Surviving are her husband William Fred Towe; daughter, Joan Tourner of Candler; sons, Ronald Towe of Fletcher, Donald Towe of Boiling Springs, SC, Bill Towe of Simpsonville, SC and Rev. Roger Towe of Deer Park, TX; sisters, Frances Plemmons of Washington state and Bobbie Early of Waynesville; brother, Carroll Hill of Canton; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Candler Church of God with the Revs. Dennis Thurman and Roger Towe officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
