Kenny Jr. Sexton

Candler Kenneth Hugh Kenny Sexton, Jr., 45, a lifelong resident of Candler went to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 25, 2011 following a long-term illness. Kenny was formerly employed with Vulcan Materials for many years as well as volunteering his time to be a Little League Coach for Hominy Valley and South Asheville Youth Leagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and Ken Sexton, Sr. formerly of Candler and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Melody Sexton; his four children - daughter, Nicole and sons, Aaron, Michael and Nicholas; three grandchildren, Cali, Mckenna and Kamron; sister, Ann Taylor and husband George; brother, Jerry Sexton and wife Phyllis; two nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Winebarger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
