L. Virgil Schenck Jr.

L. Virgil Schenck, Jr., 92, of Cocoa, FL, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his summer home in Bryson City. A native of Greensboro, NC he was a son of the Luther Virgil Schenck, Sr. and Martha Dreher Schenck. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Thompson Schenck who passed away on June 23, 2016; son, Charles Daniel Dreher Schenck; sister, Martha Chamblee; and brothers: Jeremiah Dreher Schenck, and Jay Ernest Schenck. Mr. Schenck was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in the South Pacific during WWII; he later graduated from UNC Chapel Hill where he received his degree in Business Administration. Surviving are his sons: John L.T. Schenck, Jay G.M. Schenck, L. Virgil Schenck, IV, and Scott Todd Schenck; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 11 AM at St. Augustines annual Parish in the Park event at the pavilion at Deep Creek. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Melbourne, FL.
