Larry Dale Shelton

Asheville - Larry Dale Shelton, 47, of 21 Honeysuckle Lane died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at St. Josephs Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, a graduate of Asheville High School and was the owner of Unique Ceramic Tile Company. He was a son of Anna Mae Shelton Bowman of Enka and the late Eli Marion Shelton and was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Edward Shelton and niece, Crystal Banks. Mr. Shelton was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church and a member of the Good Times Crusiers Car Club. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Karen Lee Jackson Shelton of the home ; son, Larry Dewayne Shelton of Asheville; sisters, Florence Irene Wheeler Ramsey of Barnardsville, Alice Louise Gray of Morganton, Alma Gail Harwood of Marion, Indiana and Barbara Ann Gardner of Enka; brothers, Johnny Allen of Swannanoa, Glenn Shelton of Anderson, S.C., Charles Shelton of Asheville, Doyle Eugene Shelton of Charlotte; several nieces and nephews and Tammy Jackson. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Davis and Rev. Randy Kivett officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
