Lee Roy Scott, born on August 17, 1954, in Asheville, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home in Woodfin. He was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life and took immense pride in his home and surroundings. Lee Roy's devotion to his animals and his meticulous care for his yard reflected a deep love and respect for the world around him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Glenn Edward Scott and Flossie Georgianna Robinson Scott. Their legacy lived on through Lee Roy’s gentle spirit and dedication to family.
Lee Roy is survived by his cherished sisters, Glenda Cagle, Pat Standridge (and husband, Jim who passed away), and Kathy Thorpe (and husband, Dean who passed away). Also surviving him are three nieces, one nephew, and a great-nephew, each of whom he loved dearly. His family’s bond was strong, and his love for them was evident to all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Lee Roy was a pillar of kindness and warmth. His family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to friends and neighbors for the compassion and support shown during this difficult time. A special acknowledgment is reserved for two family members who faithfully stood by his side, ensuring he was moved carefully and accompanied to medical appointments, providing comfort and strength when it was most needed.
A private service to celebrate Lee Roy's life will be held at a later date.
Lee Roy Scott’s memory will remain a blessing, marked by his care for others, his pride in his home, and the quiet dignity with which he lived his life. Those who knew him will remember a man devoted to family, faithful in friendship, and tender toward all living creatures.
