Linda Revis Hembree, a gifted artist and devoted family woman, went home to be with The Lord peacefully at her home in Candler on Monday, March 30, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 28, 1958, in Cherokee County, North Carolina, Linda’s life was marked by a deep love for drawing and an enduring commitment to her loved ones.
Known for her talent and creative spirit, Linda found joy in expressing herself through art, a passion that beautifully mirrored her vibrant and caring personality. Her artistic gifts were complemented by her unwavering devotion to her family, who were her greatest source of inspiration and happiness.
Linda is survived by her beloved sons, Darrell Waldrop and his wife Gidget, and Eugene Waldrop and his wife Lisa. Her family legacy continues through her granddaughters, Jolena Waldrop and Joanna Roberts, as well as her great-grandson, Carter Eugene Waldrop, with two more great-grandchildren anticipated in the near future. She is also remembered fondly by her brother, Lloyd Revis, Jr., and his wife Hazel; her sister, Kay Behm and her husband Bob; as well as her niece, Brandy Carpenter; and nephews, Jason Revis and Nick Revis.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 34 years, Samuel "David" Hembree, who passed away on June 1, 2020. Linda also mourned the loss of her parents, Lloyd Revis, Sr. and Etta Jane Crisp Revis; and siblings, Olene Revis and Gene "Carroll" Revis.
The family will welcome friends for visitation on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home, located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina. A funeral service will be held at the same location the following day, Tuesday, April 7, at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC, beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Vince Keith will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Bob Behm, David Carpenter, Jason Revis, Jamie Beck, Kyle Morse, and Cory Vroom.
As we remember Linda Revis Hembree, her artistic legacy and the warmth of her love for family will remain cherished by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to creativity, kindness, and enduring familial dedication. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with respect and affection.
