Linda L. Banks

Asheville Linda Lou Southerland Banks, 69, of 21 Wolf Park Circle, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at St. Joseph Campus of Memorial Mission Hospitals. A native of Polk County, she had resided in Buncombe County most of life and was a home maker. She was a daughter of the late Posey Humphrey Southerland and Edna Mae Duckett Southerland and was the wife of both the late Troy Charles Banks and Fred Andy Gaddy. She was also preceded in death by sons, Ricky Gaddy and Steve Gaddy. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Guthrie of Asheville; son, Michael W. Gaddy and wife, Debra of Asheville; her companion, Bobby Hayes of Asheville; grandchildren, Amanda and husband, Joe, Roger and wife, Lana, Tabitha, Darlene and Ronnie; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita, Betty and Pauline; brother, Howard Southerland and wife, Ruth. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, 210 Johnston School Rd., Lot #7. The family wishes to say a special thanks to the staff of ICU at St. Josephs and Grace Health Care of Asheville.
