Louis Fred Allen

West Asheville - Louis Fred Allen, 70, of 137 Wendover Road, Malvern Hills died Sunday, November 25, 2001 at Memorial Mission Hospital . A native of Madison County and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a retired plumber and the son of the late Lloyd Wade and Lizzie Fox Allen. He was also preceded in death by his son, Freddie Allen; brother, Roy Allen and sisters, Robbie Wallin and Irene Sherlin. Surviving are his former wife, Norma Canter of Ormond Beach, Florida; daughters, Rosetta Wood and husband, Joey of Asheville and Arlena Crompton and husband, Frankie of Leicester; sons, David C. Allen of Asheville and Nick E. Allen and wife, Cindy of Asheville; sisters, Evelyn Buckner of Woodfin and Velma Radford of Asheville; grandchildren, Tim Dillaha, Rosanna Wilson, Nicky Allen, Jr., Renee Connors, Michelle Connors, Melissa Wood, Shawn Harrison, Jennifer Wood, Rachel Crompton and Jessica Crompton; 7 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 step great grand daughters. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Rose and Joey Wood, 143 Wendover Road, Malvern Hills
