Lula Beatrice Rice

Asheville - Lula Beatrice Rice, 76, of 56 Oteen Church Rd. died Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Alice Effler Rice. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Edward Rice, II. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, William Edward Rice of the home; daughters, Pat Garrison and husband Stanley of Asheville and Wanda Fite and husband George of Fairview; son, Rick Rice and wife Brenda of Asheville; grandchildren, Mikki, Elissa, William Edward III, Kristen, Kerry, and Lacy; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Rice and Carolyn Springer both of Greer, SC; brother, Jim Rice of Palm Bay, FL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.F. Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
