Mae Rhew

Asheville - Nola Mae Allen Rhew, 76, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Rhew had worked for Sears Department Store for many years, and was a former member of Swannanoa Freewill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Fred A and Nola Magdaline Sanford Allen, and was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Rhew, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert Camby; sisters: Beatrice Lucille Rash and Ruth Allen Smeltzer; brother-in-law, Eugene Worley; and a great-grandson, Jonathon Razer. Surviving are her husband, Robert Vincent Rhew, of the home; daughters: Debi Ledford and husband Mike of Asheville, Sheila Camby of Hendersonville, and Teresa Moss and husband Steven of Asheville; son, Michael Rhew and wife Brigitte of Southaven, MS; sister, Martha Allen Worley of Asheville; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Lamb and Rev. Arnold Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, The family will receive friends 1:00 2:15 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
