Asheville - Margie Wilma Hallas, 70, of 95 Richmond Hill Road died Tuesday October 22, 2002 at the Mt. Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Newport, Tn. she was a daughter of the late James Lefford Manning and Edith Lewis Manning and was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Manning.. Surviving are her daughters, Lynne Thornton of Grand Rapid, Mi. and Dian Hallas of Gastonia; grandson, Steven Sanderson of Lansing, Mi.; sisters, Evelyn Manning of Myrtle Beach, Sc., Wanda Moore of Waynesville, Mary Biddix of Raleigh and Susan Bowman of Asheville; brothers, John Manning of Marion, Tom Manning of Huntersville, Fred Manning of Old Fort, Jim Manning of Yadkinville and David Manning of Hendersonville. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at Hills Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dandridge. Tn. Anders-Rice Funeral Home in Asheville is in charge of arrangements.
