Marie Mccanless

Asheville - Eliza Marie Moore McCanless, 79, of 14 Rock Hill Road Extension died suddenly Monday, February 20, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and embrodering. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Sue Allen Moore Quinn and the wife of William Joseph McCanless, Sr. who died January 17, 1963. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Sue Williams and husband Steven of Arden; sons, Joe McCanless and wife Sonja of Arden and Dick McCanless of Arden; grandchildren, Jimmy, Linda, Susan, Bill, Beth, Phil, Jennifer, Jared, Jeremy and Victoria; great grandchildren, Candace, Brandon, David, Dustin, R.C., Hannah and Haley; great great granddaughter, Hayley and special friend, Arthur Redmon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of Anders-RIce Funeral Home with Pastor Ed DeBruhl officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
