Marjorie Robinson, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully in Leicester on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 17, 1932, in Madison County, she resided in Buncombe County for most of her life, where she made enduring contributions to her family and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
Marjorie's career began at A-B Emblem, from which she retired in 1997, and she continued to make a meaningful impact in her work at Conrad Industries until full retirement. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a longtime member of Newfound Baptist Church, where her steadfast faith and commitment to her community were hallmarks of her character.
She is survived by her loving children: Clyde Robinson and his wife Paulette, Jeffery Dean Robinson and his girl friend Linda, Paggy Bennett, Nancy Fortenberry, Delores Busby, and Donna North. Additionally, her memory will be honored by her sister, Annie Fox, as well as her brothers: Rev. Troy Rogers, Rev. Howell Rogers and his wife Althea, and Truman Rogers. Marjorie also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Jeanelle Rogers, along with 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who cherished her dearly.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Robinson; her daughter, Judy Taylor, and her husband Jack; and son-in-law, Gary Bennett. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ira Way Rogers and Blanche Katherine Israel Rogers, as well as her brothers: Hugh Rogers, Eugene Rogers and his wife Jewell, Jake Marshall Sluder and his wife Elizabeth, and Lewis Sluder and his wife Bessie, along with her sister-in-law, Barbara Rogers, and brother-in-law, Troy Fox.
A visitation honoring Marjorie's life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806. Rev. Troy Rogers, Rev. Howell Rogers, and Rev. Steve Freeman will officiate. Burial will follow at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Talmage North, Nick Money, Jason Robinson, Kevin McMillan, Gary Bennett, and Roger Penley.
Marjorie Robinson will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
