Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Strom

Asheville - Mary Elizabeth Beth Lonberg Strom, 53, of 57 Nancy Street #3 died Sunday, February 16, 2003 at her residence following a period of declining health. A native of Jacksonville, Florida. She had resided in Eastern Tennessee and Colorado prior to moving to Asheville in December of 2000. Mrs. Strom was a writer of childrens stories and was preceded in death by her 2 grandchildren, Mitchell Alexander Tate and Jessica Paige Tate. She was a daughter of Fredrick Norman and Mary Jean Arenburg Lonberg of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, William Edward Bill Strom of the home; daughters, Bethany Paige Singletary and husband, Scott of Virginia Beach, VA, Jennifer Susan Tate and husband, Kevin of Asheville and Melissa Kay Murphy of Pigeon Forge, TN; 6 grandchildren; sisters,Gene Lewis of Jacksonville Beach and Norma Layton of Orange Park, FL. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
