Mary Elizabeth Rice

Asheville - Mary Elizabeth Conley Rice, 67, died Monday March 9, 2009 at her home after an extended illness. A native of Yancey County, she had lived in Buncombe County most of her life and had retired from the Grove Park Inn. She was a daughter of the late Sinclair and Mary Conley. Surviving are her husband Ben B. Rice of the home; sons, Benny Rice of Asheville and Roy Rice of Chapel Hill and sisters, Phyllis Dale of Marion and Marjorie Lettie of Sykesville, MD. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Michael Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
