Mary "Marcella" Lipe

Asheville – Mary “Marcella" Wilkes Lipe, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Plumber “P.J.” Wilkes and Lola Buckner Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Don” Lipe who passed away on June 29, 2014; grandson, Dustin Crawford; and brother, Michael James Wilkes. Mrs. Lipe was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church and a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her sons: Terry Lipe and Gregory Lipe of Asheville; daughter, Donna Sue Low and husband Ed of Asheville; grandchildren: Stephanie Tracy and husband Lincoln, Elizabeth Ray, Candice Banks, and Addison Gates; great-grandchildren: Rayne Marcella Benson and Case Storm Benson; and sisters: Jeanette Guthrie and Marcia Dean King and husband Raymond of Swannanoa. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, May 7, 2021 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, with Pastor Jerry Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 till 8 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
