Michael James Walsh

Asheville - Michael James Walsh, 67, of 800 Elk Mountain Scenic Hwy. died unexpectedly Wednesday - March 8, 2006 at his home. A native of New York City, he retired from Rescue 1 of the NYC Fire Department. He was a Vietman Veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a custom woodworker. He was a SC resident for 20 years before moving to Asheville. He was the son of the late Michael and Theresa Lyden Walsh and was also preceded in death by a son, Robert John Walsh. Surviving are his wife, Jean Carver Walsh of the home; son, Michael J. Walsh and wife Amy of Greenville, SC; daughter, Victoria Walsh of Tampa, FL; step daughter, Kim Burton and Fiancee Brantley Turner both of Stone Mtn., GA; granddaughter, Erin Walsh and sister, Marian Walsh of Queens, NY. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Sexton, Jr., Rev. Jerry Young, Mr. Bill Wysong and Mr. Shawn Manning officiating.
