Michael "Mike" Freeman

Enka - Michael Ray "Mike" Freeman, 57, of 5 Oak Street passed away unexpectedly Monday August 23. A native of Bryson City, he had lived in Buncombe County for the past 30 years. He was a member of Balsam Baptist Church. He was a son of the late James Leonard and Eliza Lynnette Cochran Freeman. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Dianne Mann-Freeman of the home; daughter, Wendy of Cape Coral, FL; son, Kevin of Alcoa, TN.; step daughters, Dianne and Lynn both of Asheville; step son, Micheal of Asheville; brothers, Jim of Rutherfordton, Bill of Sylva, Rick of Louisiana and John of Cullowhee; sister, Jamie of Maggie Valley and 10 grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the home.
