Michael Thomas Turner

Candler - Michael Thomas Turner, 51, of 185 Liberty Road died Sunday November 16, 2008 at the Asheville VA Medical Center after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a Mason and a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He was a son of Peggy Turner Michael and the late Lonnie Washington Turner. Surviving in addition to his mother are his sons, Joshua Turner of Hendersonville and Michael Turner, Jr. of Mills River; daughter, Michelle Turner Jimenez of Hendersonville; step son, Timothy Hill of Candler; brothers, Mark and Mitchell Turner both of Candler; sister, Laura Langford of Candler and grandchildren, Owen Cannon, Isaiah Jimenez and Malachi Turner. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mr. Turner's family.
