Mildred Anders Jenkins

Asheville - Mildred Anders Jenkins, 76, of 60 Park Square, died Thursday December 26, 2002 at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daugher of the late Capp and Rosa Lee Owens Anders and wife of the late Roy Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Helton and 2 sisters and a brother. Surviving are her daughters, Pauline Norris and husband, Willis, Betty Whitmire and husband, Elmer and Ruby Vaughn all of Greenville, SC; sons, Bobby Jenkins and wife, Brenda Sue and Gordon Jenkins and wife, Joann all of Greenville, SC; sisters, Ella Mae Searcy of Canton, NC, Exie Whitmire of Brevard, NC and Ada Andrews of Silver Springs, MD; brother, Alford Anders of Warner Robbins, GA; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Anders- Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will be in the Helton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
