Mildred Brown Gray

Asheville - Mary Mildred Brown Gray, 73, beloved wife of Virgil Gray died unexpectedly Thursday August 28, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she attended Kennelworth Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of the late Carmel and Mattie Wallen Brown and was also preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Brown. Surviving are her husband, Virgil Gray of the home; son, Michael Gray of Asheville, sister-in-law, Beulah Brown of Shelby; adopted daughters, Sandy Frisbee and Clara Collins; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. John David Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
