Nancy B. Sumner

West Asheville Nancy Brown Sumner, 71, of 22 Baker Place, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was the daughter of Ezetta Cara Robinson Brown of the home and the late James Russell Brown. Mrs. Sumner was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Sumner who died in 1996 and her daughter, Vicki Edwards who died in 1998. Surviving in addition to her mother are her sons, Ed Sumner and companion, Janna Anderson of Morganton and Jeff Sumner of the home; grandchildren, Jason, Paige, Josh and Daniel; sisters, Shirley Sluder and Sue Plemmons both of Leicester. Graveside services will be held 11AM Tuesday at Grace U.M. Church Cemetery with the Rev. William Zopp officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
