Nancy Irene Patton

Nancy Irene Patton Asheville - Nancy Irene Higgins Patton, 62, of 35 Lees Creek Road, died Wednesday December 26, 2001 at Mountain Area Hospice. A life long resident of Buncombe County. She was an active member of Sunrise Baptist Church and had worked for the Buncombe County and Asheville City School System as a bus driver for 20 years. She had also worked as a teachers assistance for Lucy Herring School. Mrs. Patton was a daughter of the late Albert and Clella Carter Higgins and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Charles and Carrol Higgins; sisters, Virginia Hoyle, Louise Jones and Patsy Higgins. Surviving are her husband, Robert Patton of the home; daughters, Linda Cheryl Patton of the home and Judy Bowlin and husband, Tommy of Leicester; son, John Patton of Fletcher; sisters, Marie Wilson of Swannanoa, Wanda Christian of Sunland, Ca and Pauline Brookshire of Roanoke, VA; brother, Lawrence Higgins of Pompano Beach, FL; granddaughter, Logan Allen; grandsons, Tyler Bowlin and Corey Bowlin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Sunrise Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Higgins officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka.
