Nell M. Shelton

Asheville Nellie Marie Roberts Shelton, 81, of 112 Farm Road passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 at her home. A native of Hot Springs, NC. She had resided in Buncombe County most of her life. Mrs. Shelton was a daughter of the late Henry Elbert Roberts and Dovie Bell Fender Roberts and wife of the late Ralph Shelton who died July 12, 2005. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Jenkins & husband, Darrell of Asheville; grandsons, Alan Cole of Greer, SC and Jason Cole of Asheville; sisters, Ruby Shelton of Mars Hill, Wanda Capraio of Candler and Cathy Lawson of Swansea, SC; brothers, Clarence Roberts and Glenn Roberts both of Mars Hill. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Woodby officiating. Burial will follow in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
